Quartz, Marble & Granite Repair in Sydney — Invisible Results, On-Site

What We Repair — and How We Do It

Stone surfaces fail in predictable ways. A heavy pan clips a corner. A knife slips and leaves a deep scratch. Cooking oil soaks into an unsealed section of marble. A crack appears along a weak vein after years of weight. These are the jobs we handle every week across Sydney, and in most cases the results are invisible.

We work on natural stone — marble, granite, travertine, limestone — and engineered quartz from brands like Caesarstone, Silestone, and Essastone. The materials behave differently under repair, and we treat them differently.

Chip and Corner Repair

Chipped corners are the most common stone benchtop damage we see. The fix involves rebuilding the missing section with a stone-matched compound, shaping it to the original edge profile, then polishing it to the same finish as the surrounding surface.

The colour matching happens on-site. We mix pigments by hand and test them against your stone under natural light before committing to anything. For patterned quartz, we also replicate veining detail using fine-tipped tools. The goal is that someone who didn’t know where the chip was cannot find it afterwards.

Scratch and Surface Damage

Not all scratches are equal. A surface scuff on polished granite is very different from a deep gouge in honed mar ble, and the repair approach reflects that.

Light scratches on polished surfaces are typically re-polished using progressively finer diamond abrasives until the scratch disappears and the surrounding gloss is restored. Deeper gouges require filling first, followed by shaping and polishing. We match the finish — whether your stone is mirror-polished, honed, or leathered — rather than applying a generic gloss.

Stain and Discolouration Treatment

Marble is porous and reacts to acids, oils, and minerals in ways that engineered quartz does not. A wine spill left overnight, a rust ring from a steel pot, or years of hard water buildup can leave marks that household cleaners won’t touch.

We assess the cause and depth of the stain before treating it. Acid etching — which looks like a dull patch on polished marble — is addressed by re-polishing the affected area. Mineral deposits are removed with professional descaling agents. Oil stains are drawn out with poultice compounds that penetrate the stone. Where a large area has faded unevenly from sun exposure, we can refinish the whole surface to bring it back to a consistent appearance.

Crack and Fracture Repair

Cracks in stone benchtops usually run along natural weak points — veins in marble, joins in granite slabs, or areas under stress from cabinet movement. A crack that’s only surface-deep is stabilised and filled. A through-crack that threatens structural integrity is addressed differently: the crack is cleaned, the edges are stabilised with reinforcing adhesive applied from below where possible, and the surface is filled and re-polished.

We’ll tell you honestly if a crack is beyond repair or if the underlying cause — a cabinet that has shifted, for example — needs to be addressed first, otherwise the repair won’t hold.

Why On-Site Repair Makes Sense

Replacing a stone benchtop means disconnecting plumbing, removing the slab, disposing of it, ordering new stone, waiting for fabrication, and paying for installation. For a chip the size of a fifty-cent piece, that’s a significant overreaction.

We come to your home or commercial property, assess the damage, and carry out the repair in one visit. For most jobs that means a few hours of work, no mess left behind, and a result you can use the same day.

Our service area covers Greater Sydney including the CBD, Northern Beaches, Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, Western Sydney, and the Hills District.

Common Questions

Can you fix a chipped corner on my stone benchtop?
Yes. Chipped corners are one of our most common repairs. We rebuild the missing section using a colour-matched stone compound, shape it to the original profile, then polish it to match the surrounding finish. In most cases the repair is invisible from normal viewing distance.
Will the colour match my existing marble or quartz?
Colour matching is done on-site using our proprietary pigment system. We mix and test the colour against your actual stone under natural light before applying anything. For engineered quartz with a pattern, we also replicate the veining by hand.
How long does a typical stone repair take?
Most single repairs — a chip, a scratch, or a small crack — take between one and three hours. We work on-site, so there's no need to remove your benchtop or wait days for a workshop turnaround.
Do you repair both natural stone and engineered quartz?
Yes. We work on natural marble, granite, travertine, and limestone as well as engineered quartz brands including Caesarstone, Silestone, and Essastone. The repair method differs between materials, and we adjust our approach accordingly.
My marble benchtop has a large water stain that won't clean off. Can it be fixed?
Stubborn water stains on marble are usually caused by mineral deposits or etching from acidic liquids. We assess the depth of the stain first — surface etching can be re-polished away, while deeper marks may require a light hone and refinish of the affected area.
Is stone repair cheaper than replacing the benchtop?
Almost always, yes. A full benchtop replacement typically costs several thousand dollars plus installation. Most repairs we do cost a fraction of that and leave no visible sign of the original damage. We'll always give you an honest assessment if a repair isn't the right option.
